From Academic Support to Youth Empowerment

The journey behind YSSI began while I was at university, when students started coming to me for academic guidance and sharing their personal experiences with me. I supported about ten students by encouraging them to understand themselves as learners, develop their own study approaches, and stop comparing their journey with others. Some of them later told me that I had inspired them, which made me realize that sometimes our impact is greater than we recognize.

After university, I began to see an even greater need. Life beyond academics comes with challenges that a classroom or certificate alone may not prepare us for. This inspired me to revive that spirit of supporting young people, but with a broader focus on purpose, confidence, self-expression, practical skills, career exploration, entrepreneurship, and being open to different possibilities.

Today, YSSI holds a virtual session every Saturday with 18 young people. We are creating a space where they can learn, speak openly, share experiences, discover themselves, and prepare for life beyond academics. This is still the beginning, but I am committed to growing the initiative and connecting with partners who can help us reach and empower more young people.
