Creating spaces where young people can find their voice, discover their purpose, and believe in their potential.

Youth Support Supervision Initiative (YSSI) is a youth empowerment initiative created to address the challenges young people face when preparing for their futures, including limited access to mentorship, practical skills, confidence, and supportive spaces where they can express themselves and be heard. Many young people are taught to focus mainly on academic achievement, while they may have limited opportunities to explore other skills, career pathways, entrepreneurship, creativity, and personal development.

YSSI aims to create safe and supportive spaces where young people can find their voice, discover their purpose, understand their strengths, and become more open-minded about the possibilities available to them. Through mentorship, open conversations, career guidance, practical skills development, entrepreneurship, creativity, and peer learning, we want to help young people build confidence and become active participants in shaping their futures.

The initiative will initially focus on young people aged 18–35 in Uganda, starting with a manageable community and growing over time. We plan to use online sessions, workshops, mentorship, and partnerships to reach young people and create meaningful learning opportunities.

As a growing initiative, YSSI is seeking partners, mentors, donors, and collaborators who can help us expand our programmes, reach more young people, and provide the resources needed to turn this vision into sustainable action. Our long-term vision is to grow beyond Uganda and reach more young people across Africa and beyond.
