First story

My name is Audrey, 36 years young and I am a young Itaukei from the Island of Fiji which is in the Pacific. I am a feminist and an activist. I mainly do ground work because that is where the beauty of the work that we do. I did not really finish of my education and there was alot of reasons behind it.
I love traditional arts and also I love an artform that speaks volume especially about women. I also love sports, volleyball and rugby is what I love the most.
Writing is something that I am scared to do, but when I say things in my mind it flows beautifully. I can never seem to put what I am thinking of into words as I always find it really hard. I am worried that I am not a writer, I am worried about the language, worried about the text, worried about who is going to read my story and also I am worried that the people might say that I am not enough as a writer. These are the barriers that stops me from writing. Every little quote I try to put up, even if its a 2 sentence, I have to ask my partner to proof read before I do post it up.
When writing concept notes, reports, policies etc., there is an expectation of language añd text but with this platform you write from inside. I have been able to write blogs, stories, etc but all these needs to be edited by others and finalised so that it can be posted up.
With this platform (World Pulse) I am able to relate my writing as a design of an artwork that is filled with real life experience, joy and laughter. With this pĺatform I am able to write what I think, what I feel and also proof read it by myself. When you have feminists, activists, mothers, and sisters from around the world that are part of World Pulse that can also help me to improve in my writing by providing resources. This opportunity can be a gateway to writing more stories of personal experiences and also experiences of other women and girls out there. Thank you World Pulse for this opportunity, thank you to all the hard working feminists activists here in the pacific and around the world.
