Massad Boulos: We are discussing the details of the humanitarian truce with the army and the Rapid Support Forces
Masad Boulos, a senior advisor to the US president, stated to sudanese journalists in Cairo that the army and the Rapid Support Forces welcomed the humanitarian truce announced according to the Quartet's roadmap and that they are discussing technical and logistical details before the final signing of the three-month truce. Boulos confirmed that representatives from both sides have been in Washington for some time.
In response to a question about the UAE's participation in the Quartet while supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), he pointed out that many countries support both sides in the war, stating, "The army has received support from Iran." He added, "Let's focus on achieving peace and stability for the Sudanese people first." Musaad revealed that the army and the RSF are engaged in discussions regarding a paper presented by the United States, with the support of the Quartet, aimed at achieving peace. He noted that the conflict in Sudan has become a threat to the region and the world, adding, "The conflict threatens navigation in the Red Sea." Regarding the United States' failure to designate the RSF as a terrorist organization, Polis stated that the priority now is humanitarian issues and issues related to ending the war and achieving peace. He indicated that each party is discussing the paper presented by the United States, saying, "We don't call this direct or indirect negotiations."
