About Me:
I'm a 55 year old mother, teacher, wife, sister, daughter, nurse, friend and active citizen. I'm constantly reminded of how lucky my path has been compared to so many of my sisters around the world. With this freedom comes responsibility and as a Nurse Practitioner/teacher I have tried to actively support those without a voice. As much as I believe it is important to act locally and think globally I also feel we need to be more globally responsive. I see "World Pulse" as an opportunity to become more educated, to learn more about the political context from which many of my sisters are making day to day decisions. My education requires that I ask questions, keep on high alert to rhetoric that is passive, and really not in the best interest of women here in the US but also around the world. My hope is to become much more aware and to learn about the world around me. It is never too late,
My Passions:
Nursing, learning about oura bodies, brain and the body spirit connections.
My Challenges:
Finishing my doctoral on time, working full time and having to juggle all the things I love doing.
My Vision for the Future:
Have tenure, job security and become more involved in world travel
My Areas of Expertise:
Chronic diseases, health care reforms, migrant health care.
