The Poor And Disadvantaged Children Within Informal Settlements Of Huruma And Mathare

Interactive Session Sponsored By World Pulse On The Use Of Technology
In the outskirts of Nairobi town are two informal settlements Huruma and Mathare where a large segment of the population lives on less than a dollar a day.
Families with children from poor and or disadvantaged backgrounds between the ages of two and eighteen are resident within this locality most if not with limited access to basic education, food and school clothing which ensures their presence is secured in a classroom.
Hold -my-Hands Foundation made its maiden entry by engaging in mentorship of this a young boy in his o-levels, this was successful with the consequent effect seven years later having him securing University education. The numbers have been gradually growing with impact stretching to other parts of the country
With this success story my initiative has been able to attract a number of individuals who have accepted to adopt, mentor and secure the place of 70 young boys and girls in Huruma and Mathare to secure their education.
