The genocide in Sri Lanka took place in 2009. We have been fighting for our rights for over 70 years. It is a long history that women were abducted, raped and murdered by the Sri Lankan army in the early days and then joined the struggle for the rights of Tamil women and fought against the Sri Lankan army thinking that it would be better to die fighting for our rights.
