Attrocities of our universities.

(FYI: I live in Kerala.)

If someone asks me what is one good thing about our university? It would be the fact that they know how to torture students and disregard our mental health. So that when we graduate we will get numb to real-life problems.

( Such a Win-Win situation :-|)

Don't get me wrong I love what I am studying (B. com, LLB). I even regret not giving 100% for not working enough. I'm working towards that as I've mentioned earlier also.

I'm talking about how messed up our universities are. During the first wave of covid, in most of the other courses exams were canceled and everything was evaluated on an internal marks basis.

But in our case, they decided to conduct offline exams with establishing sub-centers for those who are living far from their college but the thing is there weren't enough sub-centers (thankfully I live near my college ). 

It would all be fine at least if they took precautions for that, right? But obviously, they didn't. There was no...

 1. Proper sanitization

 2. Social distancing

Let me remind you that these two are important factors for preventing the spread of covid!

Anyways they even tried doing the same during the second wave. But thankfully a statesman intervened and spoke out for all of us and asked them to postpone it and they did. Now they are conducting exams for B. com (Intermediate exams) students in midst of all this chaos.

I just don't understand why they can't figure out another logical alternative like online exams, internal marks assessment, or something like that. In our case, we have attendance, assignments, seminars, and two internal exams for all the subjects which I think is a pretty strict and effective method for internal assessment which also ensures that students are learning everything.

I remember one of my classmates was covid positive and she had to write the exam in an ambulance in front of our college. I can't even imagine the kind of pressure she must have gone through. It's not ok and it's not fair. I'm sure those who use Twitter have seen a hashtag of cancel exams trending. In Instagram also I see the same but for some reason the voice and worries of students and being hushed and disregarded. I don't know why it's happening but it's evident. ​

​​​​​​But yes some politicians are representing these things and they are talking about it which is good but mostly it's overlooked.
