A Call for Awareness on Maternal Health, Family Planning & the Future of Our Communities
Hello WorldPulse Sisters,
I’m Hauwa Usman, a student of health science and biomedical science in Nigeria. One of the issues that deeply concerns me in my region is the lack of maternal health support and family planning awareness in many communities around me.
Women, especially in underserved regions, are having more children than they can support, not out of choice, but due to lack of access to information, services, and reproductive freedom. The results are everywhere: young children abandoned to the streets, some turning to theft and violence, not because they’re bad, but because they’re born into cycles of poverty and neglect.
This is not just a health issue; it’s a social and generational crisis. I believe with the right education, support, and open conversations, we can empower women to make informed choices about their bodies and give children a better start at life.
Through my studies and advocacy, I hope to be a voice for maternal health, family planning, and community well-being.
Let’s raise awareness and support one another to build healthier, safer, and more empowered communities.
