Women power in Tobacco industry
When I began my journey in the tobacco industry, entering a cigar factory in Danlí, Honduras, marked a true 'before and after' for me. What surprised me most was seeing hundreds of women working… at first, I didn't fully grasp it, but then someone at the factory told me something that struck me: 'It has to be women, because women possess skills that we men simply don’t.' After that day, noticing it and remembering it wasn't difficult. Even more, I began to see that in every single stage: from the nursery, planting, and harvesting, to the sewing, sorting, fermentation, blending, rolling, conceptualization, design, and marketing; there are women creating the world-class tobacco that my country, Honduras, offers to the world.
