Good Memories

During the month of International Women’s Day, also known as Women's History Month, I visited World Pulse Grandma, Jeanettle Loan Fruen in Wharton, Tx. I first met her in 2012 at World Pulse in Portland, OR at a Voices of Our Future event with Stella Paul and Nisan Ahmado. Jeanette immediately adopted me as her granddaughter and even dedicated her recently published book, Joy and Russian Tea Cakes, to her grandchildren, listing me among them.

I was so happy to see her again. It is the generous love, unending support and encouragement of these pioneer women that have catalyzed our own personal statements in this world.

Love you Grandma
