Saahas now has a separate group of helplines that specifically speak to survivors of gender-based violence from race, caste, religious, and ethnic minority backgrounds. Intersectionality teaches us about the added trauma of systemic oppression - and survivors have often not been able to find support in organizations that hold conscious and unconsicious caste, race, religious, and ethnic biases.
